Hello, paperbackwriter82 here and a little, but that is okay because I'm still posting. So yeah, here's my story. The thorns tore at my skin like a wild animal's claws would their prey. Blood trickled down my arms and dripped off my fingers. "Joe," I yelled at the top of my lungs. "Joe!" No reply. Not even the slightest hint of movement in the trees. Except for the wind, everything was quiet and peaceful. I was stuck and there was no one for miles who could hear me. Where had he gone? I only left for a moment to go refill my water bottle, and when I came back, our tent was torn and collapsed. Our little camp looked like a massive tornado had blown threw it and shown no mercy, but the worst thing was that he was gone. I'd been searching frantically for him for over an hour now. I was running through the trees, heading for the river so I could follow it to the road when I burst through some berry bushes and managed to get tangled up a mess of thorn covered vines. Then I yelled! for Joe and got nothing in return, not even an echo. "Great," I muttered angrily to myself. I grabbed the thorns in my right arm and yanked them free, gritting my teeth to fight the pain. I shoved my hand into the back pocket of my jean shorts and pulled out my pocket knife. I flicked the first blade I touched out of its place. I sighed when I saw it was the thickest one. This wasn't going to take too long after all.
